Description

Summary:
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing vehicle maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take to stall area.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
Complete full multi-point inspection report.
Notify service advisor immediately if services cannot be completed within the time promised.
Document work performed.
Road-test vehicles when required or requested, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands.
Complete On-Line training and attend factory-sponsored training classes.
Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
Ensure that customers cars are kept clean.
Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.

Hourly Rate of $16.00 up to $18.00.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:

An AS in mechanical technology or have graduated from automotive vocational school;
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; federal, state, and local regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste,; and mathematical principles, (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying and percentages) and application;
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles; determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, and legal documents; coordinate activities with other employees; pay attention to detail, read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language;
Must have a valid drivers license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
